One of the most enjoyable aspects of the Christmas season is the music. One of the things one will get excited about is country Christmas music that tenderly reflects the true religious meaning of the vacation. After all, how many versions of Jingle Bells can we stand?
The Sweetist Gift - Trisha Yearwood
This album by Trisha Yearwood has various nice countries Christmas music. “Take a Walk through Bethlehem” (Ashley Cleveland, John Barlow Jarvis, and Wally Wilson) is an up-tempo number that calls everyone to not get arrived at in the belt along of the season, but to observe the peace of our Savior. “It Wasn’t His Child” (Skip Ewing) researches the frequently commanded viewpoint of Joseph. Other good songs are “Sweet Little Jesus Boy” and the often taped “There’s A New Kid In Town.”
Let There Be Peace on Earth - Vince Gill
The first of the Vince Gill albums have another John Barlow Jarvis tune, “One Bright Star.” This album features Vince’s tenor voice came with by contemporary, if not quite country-focused, instruments and a wonderful country Christmas music. Another song worth the listen is “Let There Be Peace on Earth” (Sy Miller and Jill Jackson), which is most advantageous this year. This song acquaints Jenny Gill in a wonderful father-daughter duet.
The second, “Breath of Heaven” is a full-orchestra- attended vocal collection that antecedes Garth’s effort at a similar sound with “Magic of Christmas.” It contains numerous traditional favorites but has two beautiful new songs toward the end of the album. “A Cradle In Bethlehem” (Al Bryan & Lawrence Stock) as well as the title song co-written by now-wife Amy Grant and Chris Eaton are two meditative songs that have the likely to be classics. One will have to look for the Christmas sheet-music.
Good News - Kathy Mattea
Most of the people all-time favorite Country Christmas music is this one by Kathy Mattea. It constitutes only new contemporary songs, so this one is dissimilar than anything else one will find. All the cuts are valuable the cost of the album, but the one will enjoy the best is a Mark Lowry and Buddy Greene tune called “Mary, Did You Know.” Most other artists in all genres have taped this song, but the Mattea version is, IMHO, the best. One had the perquisite of singing this in a mass choir of 1500 voices last summer in Ocean Grove, NJ and our choir at the first Baptist church of Westfield, NJ is singing it this holiday season. If one only purchases one Christmas album, one would make it this one.
